This console was delivered, we started unpacking the pieces to put it together and there were two boards inside that were bent and cracked. Reluctantly, I thought I was going to return the piece but I was really hoping they could just ship out the two broken pieces. However, once we were deep into the directions & putting it together, I realized that the two pieces were put in the box to prevent damage to the actual console.
This unit is very easy to assemble, I only had difficulty with one part (and that is saying a lot since I am a 60 year old female who is not very strong physically) - the last step of assembly is to screw some very long screws into 8 holes to attach the bottom of the shelf. Those screws were blunt bottom, not sharp, and they would not screw in no matter what I tried, even when I tried starting the hole with a big nail. After five minutes, I gave up and just used nails in place of the screws.
This product looks really nice once assembled, but if you’re expected super high quality, look elsewhere and be willing to spend more money. My husband started the assembly with a manual screwdriver. I do not recommend that. Power tools help immensely. The unit was pretty unstable feeling until we screwed the back on. The back does not have predrilled holes to screw into, so you’re screwing directly into the unit with very little guidance. Now that it’s assembled, it looks higher quality than what it is. The top is very sturdy and appears solid. The rest seems like an MDF. The back board is pretty flimsy but gets the job done. It’s perfect for our 55 inch tv to stand on. It’s a good viewing height as well.
