When it was all put together I was so taken aback at how sturdy and heavy this piece of inexpensive furniture was. The design, of course, is not actual wood texture, but a piece of laminate over particle board. And although I was skeptical, it doesn’t look super cheap or super fake like I thought it might be for the price it was. Disclaimer: does not withstand moisture. Haha one of my little people set juice on it and spilled and now there is a raised bubble, warped spot. But like I said, we know better than to buy expensive furniture with little people around
